Buderim Community Christmas Carols to light up new Buderim Village Park stage

THE new Buderim Village Park stage will come alive with Christmas music and light for the annual Buderim Community Carols on Sunday, 10th December from 6.30pm.

The first event to be staged on the new stage, to be officially opened on 1st December, the Buderim Community Carols, will be again hosted by the BWMCA and Buderim Bendigo Community Bank and is shaping up to be the best event yet.

BWMCA Carols organiser Andrew Butterworth said the Buderim Community Christmas Carols would this year feature the Suzie Keenan and Friends trio, Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence (BYTES) with special guest Buderim’s own stage star Eva Murawski, who played the lead in Tim Minchin’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Matilda.

“With the fantastic new stage, we are even more excited about this year’s Buderim Community Carols which for the local community really heralds the beginning of the Christmas season,” Mr Butterworth said.

“We welcome everyone to gather their family and friends and a picnic rug or chairs and join us for what we hope will be a magical night.

“We will have more Carols for everyone to sing a long with too – and would like the Buderim community to come together, raise their voices and fill the air in the spirit of peace and goodwill as we head into Christmas.”

Buderim Bendigo Community Bank chairman, John Burgess said the Carols would once again be a great way to get into the festive spirit and come together as a community.

“We are privileged to have such a talented line up of performers and the new facilities at Buderim Village Park offers us a spectacular venue so it will be a very special event, one which the Bank is very proud to support,” Mr Burgess said.

“The youthful exuberance and talent of the BYTES team under direction of Buderim’s Robyn Ernst will also be in full swing with Suzie Keenan and Friends also leading some Carols,” Mr Burgess said.

Mr Butterworth said the family-friendly Carols, starting at 6.30pm, would of course also include a visit from Santa and a sausage sizzle, courtesy of the barbecue experts at the Rotaract Club of the Sunshine Coast.

“We will also have candles, glow sticks and other products for sale, with proceeds going back to the BWMCA for future events and even if it rains, the show will go on – moving into the Buderim War Memorial Hall next to the park as the wet weather alternative.”

The event is made possible through the generous support of event partners, the Buderim Bendigo Community Bank and through their grants program the Sunshine Coast Council, Carvosso and Winship Buderim Solicitors, the Rotary Club of Buderim, Reflected Image PRoductions, JPG Print and Design, the Buderim Chronicle, Sunshine Coast Daily, Fenwick’s Fruit Emporium and 104.9 Sunshine FM.

“So bring your fold up chairs or picnic rugs and your voices and we will see you there!” Mr Butterworth said.
