Interview Skills
Dealing with the media can be a daunting prospect and getting your message across in your 30 seconds of fame (if you are lucky) can be difficult.
In this program, we will focus on giving you the skills so you have the confidence and knowledge to deal with any media interview and know that your message won’t get lost in the wash.
Where our introductory media training course – Getting Your Message Out There focused on giving you a general overview about all media relations, this course will concentrate on teaching you the art of using a media interview to get your point across.
The course will include some practical exercises and cover:
- Interview set up – know what you are getting yourself into
- What’s your point – honing your message for the short attention span of modern media
- Questions you need to be able to answer
- Staying on message and in control of the interview
- Stuck for words – how to avoid the unwinnable questions and give you time to think
