Smiling for Smiddy – A Journey of Friends
September 19, 2010Smiling for Smiddy ‘A Journey of Friends’ is a documentary telling the story of a group of bicycle riders as they traveled from Brisbane to Townsville in September 2009. The project tells the story of how Mark Smoothy started the ride to commemorate the death of his friend Adam Smoothy, a commemoration that has now turned into an annual event which has raised more than $1.9million in just six years.
The 2009 documentary, ‘A Journey of Friends’, and incorporated a song especially written for the charity by our video producer Ryan Early, award-winning singer/songwriter Mishelle Bradford-Jones and Peter Koppes, of The Church fame.
This, the first doco, we produced for Smiling for Smiddy, was a huge success screening on WIN Television and attracting 38,000 viewers. It also went on to win the Best Documentary category at the 2010 Queensland Multi Media Awards.
