The two-day event is filled with demonstrations and activities for all ages including workshops, ‘how to’ sessions and a range of international cuisines to try that are sure to tantalize tastebuds.

Festival Director, Julie Shelton said that with the festival entering it’s fourth year they are expecting record crowds and that festival goers will be delighted by the extensive range of stall holders and demonstrations on offer.

“Word renowned chef, Christine Manfield who is known for her culinary excellence and her ability to draw on tastes and flavours from cultures around the world will hold demonstrations in the Real Food Kitchen tent, working with some local producers and their produce.

“My Kitchen Rules 2013 winners, Dan & Steph are hosting a stall at the festival and will do a presentation on making sausages at home on the Saturday morning of the festival,” Julie said.

Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, a gardening enthusiast who is passionate about sourcing local ingredients to use in cooking, will be sharing the limelight with students from Montville and Conondale State Schools who are involved in Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden program.

As well as sharing how kids can get involved in growing and cooking their own food, there will be a hay bale maze, a treasure hunt and other activities for kids to enjoy on the day.

This year’s program will include fascinating demonstrations, talks, interactive workshops and kids activities.  The Food for Thought venue will offer perspectives on key issues for our region, Food Craft will show kitchen tips and techniques, Nourishing Ideas will focus on diet and health, the Kitchen Garden will give practical advice on gardening, and the Little Sprouts area will inspire kids to develop a lifelong passion for good food.
