With pre-show entertainment from 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start, along with a special appearance by Santa Claus, locals and visitors alike are invited to join in on the popular annual event, hosted again this year by the BWMCA and Buderim Bendigo Community Bank.

BWMCA Carols organiser Andrew Butterworth said the Buderim Community Christmas Carols would this year feature the Suzie Keenan and Friends trio, Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence (BYTES) and local ukulele collective The Uka-lalians.

“After the success of last year’s event on the new Buderim Village Park stage, we are even more excited about this year’s Buderim Community Carols, which for the local community really heralds the beginning of the Christmas season,” Mr Butterworth said.

“We welcome everyone to gather their family and friends, and bring along a chair or a picnic rug for what promises to be a magical night.

“Along with some great live acts performing, we will have many Carols for everyone to sing along with too, and hope the Buderim community will join in on the spirit of peace and goodwill as we head into Christmas.”

Buderim Bendigo Community Bank branch manager Peter Macdonnell said the Carols would once again be a great way to welcome in the festive season and come together as a community.

“We are so fortunate to have such a talented line up of performers and if last year’s event taught us anything, it’s that the new stage facilities make Buderim Village Park a spectacular venue,” Mr Macdonnell said.

“The youthful exuberance and talent of the BYTES team under direction of Buderim’s Robyn Ernst will be in full swing with Suzie Keenan and Friends also leading some Carols, and I’m particularly looking forward to hearing the The Uka-lalians band – they’re sure to add a summery twist,” Mr Macdonnell said.

“It will be a very special event and one which the Bank is very proud to support.”

The family-friendly Carols will once again be hosted by radio personality Cam Young from 104.9 Sunshine FM include a sausage sizzle courtesy of the barbecue experts at the Rotaract Club of the Sunshine Coast, with glow stick candles and products and other treats including popcorn and fairy floss also be for sale on the night, with proceeds going back to the BWMCA and other Buderim community organisations for future events.

In the event of severe weather, the show will go on, simply by moving into the Buderim War Memorial Hall next to the park.

The event is made possible through the generous support of event partners, the Buderim Bendigo Community Bank and through their grants program the Sunshine Coast Council, Carvosso & Winship Buderim Solicitors, the Rotary Club of Buderim, Reflected Image PRoductions, JPG Print and Design, Fenwicks Fruit Emporium, the Buderim Chronicle, Sunshine Coast Daily, and 104.9 Sunshine FM.
