A dozen community organisations were awarded a record total of $65,000 when Buderim Foundation presented its 2016 grants.
The grants were presented at the Foundation’s annual Good News event which this year took place in Buderim’s Memorial Hall on Sunday September 18.
The Buderim Foundation will be celebrating this Sunday afternoon, bringing together Foundation Ambassadors, Buderim families, sponsors and friends to announce this year’s annual grant recipients.
Just one month into the 2016 Swim with Humpback Whales season and already it’s looking like it will be the best yet for Sunreef Mooloolaba who offer Australia’s first Swim with Whales Experience.
“So far this season, we have had more successful swims with the whales than ever before – it seems there are more whales and calves around for this time of the season – and they seem more curious as well,” Sunreef’s Dan Hart said.

Sunreef Mooloolaba is doing it again – following the success of last year’s ex-HMAS Brisbane anniversary, they are doing it again. To celebrate the 11th anniversary of the scuttling of what has become Australia’s best military shipwreck, scuba divers will dive for FREE.
Buderim’s beautiful Foote Sanctuary will come alive with a mix of pop, folk, classical and choir music for a special concert on Sunday 31st July.
The concert will be the second of the Sanctuary’s regular series of outdoor concerts staged in its unique sound shell.
As well as a program of pop, folk, classical and choir music there will be an offering of a sausage sizzle, a range of food and drink, Garden Club plant stall and others selling artefacts and hobby ware.
Sunreef Mooloolaba will officially welcome the Humpback Whales with a Whale Welcome Party this Friday at Sunreef’s new home at The Wharf Mooloolaba. Sunreef operate Australia’s first Swim with Humpback Whales Experiences and this year’s season which started on Friday 8th July is already off to a great start.

The Buderim Foundation’s 2016 Community Grants Program gets underway on Friday June 24. Now in its ninth consecutive year, eligible community groups benefitting the Buderim community are encouraged to apply for grants up to $10,000.
Lisa Edward, Chair of the Foundation’s Grants Committee said that this year, successful grant applicants were likely to share a total grant pool of approximately $60,000.
